Freedom of communication.
A private space. The foundations of trust in AI.
Hello Li was built around a single observation — and a consequence that the people who run the world already knew, but had not yet seen named in a product.
Who I am
I’m Edwin Danso. I founded OTA Media Group, built the Leadership Index, and direct The Fifty — the annual ranking of the fifty leaders most influential in shaping the UK economy. Hello Li is what happens when an editorial company decides to ship a product.
What private conversation made possible
Off The Agenda, the platform I started in 2021, put me across the table from leaders who shape this country: Sir Kenneth Olisa, Baroness Patricia Scotland, Dame Elizabeth Anionwu, Afua Kyei, Gina Miller, Sir Charles Bowman, Baroness Dambisa Moyo. Over six years and twenty conversations, they taught me what they could not say in public.
Off-the-record was the substrate of every move that mattered. Markets were moved, careers redirected, and institutions reshaped in conversations that left no record. That is not an accident of how power works. It is a precondition.
Why AI breaks that substrate
Every prompt is logged. Every conversation can be recalled. Every tool trains on the user. The most powerful technology in human history is being built without a single space where it cannot reach — and without that space, off-the-record communication, private counsel, and the candid conversations that quietly run every institution become impossible.
That is not a future problem. It is the present condition of every AI product shipped before this one.
The decision
Hello Li is the space AI does not reach. Black Box mode is the first messaging mode in a consumer product where the conversation does not exist on a server, does not exist in memory after we close, and does not exist in any way you cannot delete by closing your eyes. The promise that requires no asterisk.
Around it sits a network where every operator has been identity- verified before they can send a single message. An AI chief of staff calibrated to who you are. A daily agenda briefed in your own voice cast. All of it built so the most private conversation you can have on a phone is also the most considered one.
The foundations
Freedom of communication is the foundation of trust. The private space is what makes it real. They have to be the foundations of AI.
I made them the foundations of Hello Li.
